Description

Due to Arctic amplification, the Arctic climate system is warming more rapidly than any other region of the world. In response, glaciers across the Arctic are evolving, whether through changing mass balance conditions or modified ice dynamics. As such, quantifying and characterizing these changes are of paramount importance, both for understanding how these important elements of the cryosphere are responding to climate change and for projecting their future response. In this session, we solicit presentations that describe Arctic glacier change in any region of the circum-polar north, including studies utilizing field datasets, remote sensing methods and modelling
