This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Arctic Inspiration Prize (AIP). By the North and for the North, the AIP is the largest annual prize in Canada, encouraging, enabling and celebrating the inspiring achievements of people across the North, from Yukon to Nunatsiavut. Every year approximately $3 million is shared amongst laureate teams for their innovative plans to inspire change and improve the lives of people living in their communities. Over the last 10 years, AIP projects have focused on a variety of northern issues including, education, training, health and wellness, environment and climate change, recreation, tourism, culture, language and economic development. In this session we will hear from people who have taken part in some of the ground-breaking initiatives spear-headed by AIP laureates, and learn about the positive impacts that AIP projects are having in the North.
