NPD30-Developing sustainable fisheries to benefit northern indigenous communities
Date et heure
jeudi 9 décembre 2021, 13:30 - 14:45
Description

Fisheries have been an essential part of northern First Nations and Inuit cultures and economies for thousands of years and they are crucially important for food security, economic development, cultural practices, and healthy nutrition throughout the North. Ensuring that these fisheries develop in a sustainable manner and will benefit Indigenous residents of the North will require approaches that take into consideration the best available knowledge from a diversity of perspectives. This session will be open for submissions contributing to or supporting the development and management of sustainable fisheries in the North including recent Western scientific data, Indigenous and local Knowledge, social science and mixed methods or any other fields of inquiry that are relevant to advancing sustainable fisheries assessment, governance, and management in the North.
