This plenary features a panel of speakers representing Northern post-secondary institutions in Canada receiving funding under the ArcticNet North-by-North Program: Yukon University, Aurora College, Nunavut Arctic College, and the School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies at the Labrador Institute. Speakers will: 1) discuss how each of their geographic and institutional contexts have enabled their institution’s transitions, and how they represent and grow within their respective regions; 2) describe future visioning and next steps for their institutions, detailing where they are now and their plans to grow and create Northern-focused and Northern-led research, education, and community programming; and 3) the role that the North-by-North Program has played in enhancing their transitions and how renewed ArcticNet structure has enabled region-specific leadership within the program.
